After great success from the renowned Michelangelo’s in both Knightsbridge and Marylebone, Paul Loizou decided to showcase his love of food to the people of Hertfordshire.   


1993 saw the establishment of the Silver Palate in both St. Albans and Harpenden.  Starting as a delicatessen, the Silver Palate focused on offering delicious produce from across Europe, importing the finest cheeses, wines and cured meats from regions in France, Italy, Greece, Spain and beyond.


By 2003, Angelo and his Mother Georgina saw an opportunity that they believed would evolve Paul’s legacy.  They expanded the Silver Palate portfolio by founding a restaurant to bring the quality produce that Paul was so passionate about to life.  


Today, the Silver Palate has become a prominent figure within the Harpenden community, continuing to offer high quality products within both the restaurant and delicatessen, and to inject some much needed mediterranean ethos into Harpenden!
